I have been writing science fiction and weird stories since I was six years old. My first story was entitled “Garfield and the Time Machine” where the cartoon cat went back in time. Throughout my elementary, junior, and high school years, I wrote short stories.
When I was in college, I briefly majored in journalism before deciding to go to film school. After graduation, I wrote many several, one of which became the basis for a short story and later a Black & White silent 16mm film called “The Last Alchemist.” The story involves a teenage girl who receives a letter from her estranged Grandfather. He needs to see her right away and tell her about the family business. (I will post the movie on here in July 2014)
In 2006, I decided that I wanted to be a writer. I expanded upon the story and characters in “The Last Alchemist” and finished my first novel “Living Proof” in 2009. “Living Proof” has been submitted, but has yet to be published.
In 2008, I went to my first Potlatch, a sci-fi writer’s convention in Seattle. I met a group of interesting fellow young writers and we formed a writer’s group that we called “The Shining Creamsicles.” I produced several short stories, which was more manageable while I was going to graduate school. While I have submitted several of these stories for publication, none of them have been published to date.
Currently, I am working on a novel about what happens when an alien virus is unleashed in Seattle.
I love to write and can’t wait to publish my first story or novel. I will use my blog to talk more about my experiences getting published. Stay tuned!
